Rakitic is concerned about his future in Spain
Ivan Rakitic has been a mainstay in Barcelona’s midfield since he joined them from La Liga rivals Sevilla back in 2014. He has won the Champions League and two La Liga titles during his stay at the club and is set to win his third La Liga title this season.
But Rakitic is concerned about his future at the Spain. Barcelona are planning to add reinforcements this summer with Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann their top priority and with arrival Philippe Coutinho in January, the Croatian fears his place in the staring 11 is threatened .
According to Spanish publication Don Balón, Rakitic has a proposal on the table from Old Trafford chiefs to switch clubs in the summer. Jose Mourinho is a big admirer of him and has already opened talks with Barcelona regarding a potential transfer. They are also willing to increase his current terms.
The 30 year old is willing to leave Barcelona as he is becoming increasingly tempted to join Manchester United. The financial terms on offer are also tempting him. But there in nothing suggestions from Barcelona that they want to sell their star this summer.
Rakitic has scored four goals and provided four assists for Barcelona this season. He is contracted with them until the summer of 2021.
