Bayern Munich have reportedly begun talks with Manchester City over the transfer of Leroy Sane.
One of the finest wingers in world football at present, Sane has scored 39 goals and has registered 45 assists in 133 appearances for Manchester City across all competitions.
Last season, the German international was in terrific form for Pep Guardiola’s side, netting 16 goals and providing 18 assist in 47 appearances across all competitions as his team won a domestic treble of the Premier League, FA Cup and the League Cup. Bayern Munich are interested in signing Sane with some of the club’s personnel publicly claiming their interest in signing the 23-year old. Bayern manager Niko Kovac went on to say that Sane is the club’s dream player. Kovac said: “We all know that Leroy Sane is our dream player. The public knows that, we know that. You can see that the transfer is not easy. But I know that our people are working very hard to make it happen. We will do everything to realise this transfer.”
Manchester City are reportedly demanding £90 million for Sane and according to the Mirror, Bayern Munich have begun talks with the Premier League champions over a move for the winger. The Bavarian club’s Sporting Director Hasan Salihamidzic is in negotiations with Manchester City over a move for Sane.
Bayern Munich have already spent nearly €120 million in signings French full-backs Lucas Hernandez and Benjamin Pavard. The Bundesliga champions are in dire need of a winger following the departures of club legends Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery. Sane will undoubtedly be a fine addition to Niko Kovac’s squad. One area where Bayern Munich may have bit of an edge over Manchester City is the fact that they can give Sane more first team time than Guardiola gave him. Last season, there were some matches where Sane was on the bench.
