Bayern Munich Eyeing Up Callum Hudson-Odoi

Bayern Munich are keeping tabs on Chelsea youngster, Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The 18-year-old’s future at Stamford Bridge is not looking to promising as Maurizio Sarri looks to sign Christian Pulisic this January. Hudson-Odoi has been granted just 275 minutes of playing time for the senior squad this season but should Pulisic make an entry, even those minutes are expected to disappear.

Maurizio Sarri’s brand of football demands immeasurable confidence on the ball and Pulisic is one to deliver that consistently, having already proven himself in the European stage.

Hudson-Odoi is branded as one of the best talents to come out of the Chelsea academy but is yet to prove his worth against the big boys. Sarri does not plan on selling the U17 World Cup winner but at the same time can not field him ahead of professionals like Willian, Eden Hazard and Pedro.

Chelsea risk losing him for minimal compensation of around £2m as per UEFA regulations, should the player choose to leave after 18 months. Blues managing director, Marina Granovskaia is willing to extend Hudson-Odoi’s contract beyond 2020 in the process to see him succeed as the first youngster in the Roman Abramovich era at Chelsea.

However, if Bayern were to complete a deal, will it make sense for the player himself? The Bundesliga giants are already due to receive another teenage winger in Alphonso Davies next year and also have Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry in the side.
