According to reports, Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have emerged as the latest party interested in the signature of Philippe Coutinho.
The Brazilian joined Barcelona in a club-record £142m deal in January 2018, following his impressive stint with Liverpool. However, the 27-year-old has failed to live up to the hype at the Nou Camp, with the Catalans interested in selling him this summer.
“There is interest from FC Bayern, but there is no agreement. That is all there is to say at the moment,” a Barca spokesman told Goal and Spox when consulted over reports linking Coutinho to Bavaria.
However, Bayern aren’t the only club in the running for Coutinho, who played a crucial role in Brazil’s Copa America triumph this summer. French champions Paris Saint Germain are also interested in the playmaker’s signature as they are plotting the sale of Neymar to the Nou Camp.
Barcelona are set to begin their LaLiga campaign in an away game to Atletic Bilbao on 17 August.
