Bayern Munich are in pole position to land Callum Hudson-Odoi
If reports are to be believed, Bayern Munich are in pole position to land out of favour Chelsea starlet Callum Hudson-Odoi in January.
The Bavarian giants are currently on the lookout for wide options to replace Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery both of whom are set to leave the club next summer. The Bundesliga champions have identified the youngster as a realistic option to fit their bill.
Hudson-Odoi made his Premier League debut under Antonio Conte last season but the 18-year-old is yet to make a single appearance in the Premier League under Maurizio Sarri this term. His involvement has only been limited to four appearances in the UEFA Europa League where he has caught the eye with his pace and trickery, picking up a goal and an assist.
The youngster is reportedly frustrated with his lack of opportunities at the highest level and has so far refused to sign a new deal at the club. However, Chelsea remain confident that they can ward off foreign interest in the teenager and tie him down to a new five-year contract.
The failures of Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud has forced Sarri to use Eden Hazard in a false nine role and Hudson-Odoi might get his chance in the coming days in place of Willian who has largely underwhelmed with his performances this season.
