Bayern Munich have emerged as a surprise suitor for Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey.
The Wales international was on the verge of renewing his stay at the North London club but were put off by the club and now there is no deal on the table. Ramsey’s contract will be up at the end of the current season which means he will be free to negotiate with any club when the transfer window reopens in January.
A number of clubs including Liverpool and Manchester United have already been linked with the club but the German side are very enthusiastic to make a move first.
Ramsey has been involved in all the 11 matches so far but five of his appearances came from the bench.
Unai Emery has opted to use Lucas Torreira and Granit Xhaka in the central midfield with Ramsey being used as more of an advanced midfielder. But that hasn’t been of much help as it has curbed the midfielder’s quality of making late runs into the box.
It is not sure whether Emery instructed the club not to offer him a new contract but the gaffer doesn’t seem to be affected by the current situation. The Gunners are currently unbeaten in the last 14 matches and played out a 1-1 draw with Liverpool to keep the juggernaut rolling for them.
