Philippe Coutinho has admitted that Bayern Munich are more “familial” than Liverpool.
The 27-year-old completed a loan move to the Allianz Arena last month and has already featured in 3 Bundesliga games. He has revealed that the culture shock is real but the experience with Bayern is definitely different than with Liverpool.
“Thiago is Brazilian and speaks Portuguese. He helped me very much on the first days, especially with respect to communication,” said Coutinho. “German is fricking hard! But I’ve resolved to learn a bit. A few staff members speak Spanish; that made it easy. Everything here is very familial. I know that from Liverpool a little bit, but things are even more familial here.
“I think it was really good (his first Bayern training session). The fans were incredibly nice to me. It’s super to feel this positive energy of theirs right up close. A big number of children are always there; I see their eyes beaming and that makes me happy.”
Coutinho has also been included in Bayern’s Champions League squad who are about to take on Red Star Belgrade on Wednesday. The Brazilian’s transfer was both a shock and somewhat expected after his troubling period with Barcelona. Hopefully, he gets to hit his best stride with the German giants this season.
