Bayern Munich chief, Hasan Salihamidzic is not anxious about resigning some of the club’s biggest stars who are on expiring contracts.
The likes of Manuel Neuer, Thomas Muller, Javi Martinez, David Alaba and Thiago Alcantara will all be out of a contract next year.
It has been a mix of ups and downs for Bayern this season but all the named players remain integral to their current setup. “We will certainly have talks, but in the next few weeks we will concentrate on the competitions,” Salihamidzic told reporters. “It’s important that we are totally focused on the games in the upcoming weeks. That’s where the focus lies.”
Salihamidzic was further probed about rival clubs potentially taking a look at any of these players. He replied, “No. Sure, this can happen with top players, but we have had good experience with concentrating on the competitions first and that’s what we will do. But like I said before, we will have talks, the players know about it and there are no problems.”
Bayern edged past Hoffenheim 4-3 last night to reach the DFB Poka quarter-finals. They have also managed to overtake RB Leipzig to the top of the Bundesliga after beating Mainz 3-1 this past weekend.
