According to reports from Spanish outlet AS, Bayern Munich could be set to make a last-ditch attempt to sign Real Madrid outcast Gareth Bale this summer. The Welshman has been touted to leave Los Blancos, with Zinedine Zidane already confirming his intentions to sell him.

The 30-year-old saw a move to China collapse earlier in July. Real Madrid are now keen more than ever to sell the player and get his €30m-per-year salary off the wage bill.

Bayern Munich are said to be considering a loan move for the Welshman, who is no more a part of Zidane’s plans at the Bernabeu next season. However, both Bale and Real Madrid are uninterested in sealing any temporary exit.

With the Bavarians baulking at the asking price for Bale, apparel makers Adidas could convince the German champions to satisfy the 30-year-old’s wage demands. A source told AS,

“Don’t forget that Bale is sponsored by [Bayern Munich kit suppliers] Adidas and that this is a brand that has a lot of money invested in Bayern. ”

Real Madrid will face Red Bull Salzburg in a friendly game tomorrow as Bayern wait to kickstart their Bundesliga campaign against Hertha Berlin on 17 August.
