Bundesliga side ready to sell midfielder

Bayern Munich are looking to sell midfielder Mario Gotze over the Summer after a run of poor form, according to Dietmar Hamann.

The German international has struggled to impress this season after his World Cup heroics in Brazil, and it’s believed that Munich are ready to cash in on the midfield-man.

Gotze scored the winning goal in the World Cup final for Germany against Argentina, but has struggled to continue his form into the 2014/2015 campaign.

Premier League Interest

According to reports, Arsenal and Chelsea have been monitoring the 22-year-old, but it could be Manchester United who eventually land him.

Munich paid £30million for Gotze two years ago after persuading him to leave rivals Borussia Dortmund, but after failing to cement a first-team spot, the German champions could be ready to sell.

It’s believed Munich want to recoup the £30m they spent on the midfielder, and according to Hamann, he could be on his way to England.

Hamann has also revealed that there was talks of a potential swap deal with United involving Angel Di Maria.

Hamann Expects Sale

Hamann told Goal.com: “Mario Gotze is badly out of form and Bayern Munich are highly likely to sell him.

“He’s not happy at the club, and the club aren’t happy with him. When that’s the case it’s better all round to have a parting of the ways.

“Bayern will want to get back roughly what they paid for Gotze but whether anyone is willing to cop a £30m fee is another matter.

“There has been talk of a swap with Manchester United for Angel Di Maria. Whether that is likely I don’t know, but Di Maria is the type of player Bayern need, and they have to bring in players of his calibre.”
