Bayern Munich have sent out a hint to other European teams that they are firmly in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus in the summer.

The German winger looks all but set to leave Dortmund this summer, after putting on hold contract talks with the German club.

Reus’ reported ÂŁ20 million buy-out clause is currently attracting many teams from around Europe, including Prem four-some Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal.

But now, Munich are ready to poach another Dortmund player from their rivals, following the arrivals of Robert Lewandowski and Mario Gotze in the last two years.

And speaking to Kicker, Bayern president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has revealed that the club are interested in signing the 25-year-old attacker, and that the German champions are making preparations ahead of a potential summer switch.

He said: “To be honest, we’ll discuss the matter internally and calmly. Then we will come to a decision.

“At the end of the day, the player has to decide too. His release clause is well known. There’s nothing more to say.”
