Tottenham Hotspur midfielder wants homecoming

Watford have missed out on signing Benjamin Stambouli after it was revealed he has agreed personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain.

The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder was close to following Etienne Capoue to the newly-promoted Premier League side, but they’ve been knocked back with PSG entering the race.

Terms Agreed

The Ligue 1 champions have already agreed personal terms with the midfielder, but are yet to agree a transfer fee with Spurs with the two parties differing on a price-tag.

PSG want to pay £4.5million, whilst Spurs are holding out for £6.2m, despite the Premier League outfit accepting just a £4m bid from The Hornets earlier in the summer.

However, after PSG expressed their interest, Stambouli refused to join Watford and is eyeing a return to France.

Stambouli only joined White Hart Lane last season from Ligue 1 side Montpellier, but he failed to make an impression on Mauricio Pochettino, who is already wanting to sell.

Stambouli would follow the likes of; Paulinho, Capoue and Younes Kaboul out of North London, with the latter undergoing a medical at Sunderland.
