Liverpool have captured the signing of Belgium forward Christian Benteke for £32.5 million pounds.
The powerhouse striker has agreed personal terms with the Reds and will become Liverpool’s seventh summer signing.
After completing his medical today, Benteke has now become Liverpool’s second most expensive purchase ever after the club decided to meet the player’s buy-out clause in his Aston Villa contract.
Upon completing his move to Anfield, Benteke told Liverpoolfc.com: “I’m very happy to be here and I would like to thank the owners, Ian (Ayre) and of course the manager for their massive effort to bring me here.
“It’s hard to show your emotion when you’ve just come from doing something (like this) but of course I am very happy.”
The forward is expected to make his Liverpool debut in the pre-season friendly against HJK Helsinki in Finland on August 1.
