Trio considering the Belgian’s £32.5million buy-out clause

Christian Benteke, 24, has left his future in the hands of his agent whilst on international duty.

The Belgian striker has insisted he is doing the right thing by leaving his agent to deal with things whilst he is preparing for Belgium’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Wales.

“I don’t know, I don’t think about Aston Villa now, I did my season with Villa and now I am focused with the national team” said Benteke.

Major injury

Following on from an Achilles injury which ruled him out of the World Cup, the Aston Villa striker scored 12 goals last season and knows there is room for improvement.

He knew the road to recovery would be tough, but could see the opportunity to break back into the side was there provided he put in the hard work.

Giants interest

Brendan Rodgers has made no secret of his admiration for the Villa forward and could well sign the former Genk man as part of his rebuilding job in the summer.

Whether Rodgers is still at the helm remains to be seen as he is due to meet with co-owner Tom Werner this week to discuss his future.

As well as Liverpool, it’s been reported that both Manchester United and Chelsea are showing interest in the powerhouse striker with both in the market for new attacking men.

United are trying to find a replacement for Radamel Falcao, whilst Chelsea are seeking a Didier Drogba replacement.
