Aston Villa striker will decide future after season ends

Aston Villa star Christian Benteke will reportedly make a decision regarding his future in June once the current campaign has finished.

The Belgium international has been superb for The Villains in recent weeks, scoring 11 goals in his last 10 games, and has been one of the main reasons behind their revival in the league.

Paul Lambert was sacked from his role at Villa Park with the club deep in the relegation zone, but after Tim Sherwood came in, he managed to turn their fortunes around and they now look likely to stay in the top-flight.

Villa are also in the FA Cup Final after beating Liverpool 2-1 at Wembley and they will face the holders Arsenal at the end of May.

Trio Interested

As for Benteke, his recent return to form has caught the eye of several suitors, including Premier League trio Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United.

The three giants are all in the market for new attackers ahead of next season and after Benteke re-found his scoring boots, he has caught the eye.

United are facing the possibility of losing both Radamel Falcao and Robin Van Persie, whilst Liverpool are desperate to lose Fabio Borini, Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli.

As for Chelsea, despite strolling to the Premier League title, Jose Mourinho is expected to make three or four signings over the Summer with a striker high on his wish-list.

Benteke’s Future

With Benteke a target for all three sides, they will be interested to know that the striker will potentially make his decision next month.

After the FA Cup Final, Benteke has a couple of international friendlies with Belgium and it is after them when he will make his decision regarding his future.

According to reports, the striker will hold talks with Villa before coming to a conclusion.

The striker currently has two years left on his contract at Villa Park and is valued at around ÂŁ30million.

Sherwood has already confirmed that if Benteke wants to leave, he won’t stand in his way.
