Fulham striker Dimitar Berbatov has revealed that he would be open to a move away from Fulham in January, as he struggles for form after a difficult personal start to the season, as Fulham battle against relegation, his agent has revealed today.

The 32 year old striker, who enjoyed a successful first season at the Cottage after signing in 2012 has confirmed that he is unhappy with Fulham’s current situation, and is desperate for a move away in January.

The Bulgarian international signed from Manchester United and has become a fan favourite after becoming a fan favourite, putting in some superb performances. But the striker has scored just two goals this season and his new manager, Rene Meulensteen, who took the reins this week charged with keeping the side in the division but will be rocked by news that Berbatov, whose contract expires in the summer, is looking for a way out.

Beratov has been a recent transfer target for FC Barcelona, Galatasary, and a whole host of Serie A clubs, but would prefer to stay in England.

His agent stated in an interview….

I don’t usually speculate as nobody knows what will happen in January but what I can tell you is he [Berbatov] is not happy at Fulham,” Dantchev said. “He would like, if possible, to find another option.”

Despite a poor campaign by his own standards, Berbatov has the star power to attract interest from clubs throughout Europe, but Dantchev suggested the his client would prefer to remain in the Premier League.

“I cannot comment [on whether there has been any approach] but the priority is to find a solution to stay in England,” he said.

Fulham refused to comment on the situation, ahead of tonight’s fixture against Tottenham Hospur.
