“It is perfection,” said Poyet. “It has to be [the biggest] because of the rival, the position and the difference in the squad”
Phil Bardsley scored the only goal in the match, to give Sunderland only their second win of the season.
Since taking control of the club, Gus Poyet has overseen his side take back to back home wins, and has taken Sunderland into the quater-finals of the Capital One Cup.
Poyet talked about how proud he was of his team, and that they are now in position to get their season back on track.
“I am very proud and very tired like I played the game. Today shows something is going in the right direction. We need to make sure we all believe”.
