The defender has claimed he has the Juventus shirt ‘sewn to his body.’

Leonardo Bonucci has today quashed rumours that he might be moving to Chelsea by claiming he has the Juventus shirt ‘sewn to his body.’

The 29-year old has become a key player for his club and his country over the last few seasons, performing superbly for both sides. Last year, he played in 59 games for Juventus and the Italy national side, including five appearances in the Euros over the summer.

The defender has been a target for the Blues for quite some time now, with the Stamford Bridge side now managed by Antonio Conte, who formerly worked with the Juventus man for the Italian national team.

Man City also eyeing move

Conte remains a big fan of the Italian and would love to bring him to the Premier League to boost his backline.

It isn’t just Chelsea who remain keen to sign him but Man City too, who are currently on the lookout for a new centre-back.

It seemed like he might make the move to England during the summer but nothing ever materialised. Now, the player himself has handed his suitors a blow by pledging his loyalty to Juventus in an interview today.

He claimed: “I feel I have the Juve shirt sewn to my body because I breathe it every day, but wearing the national team shirt is also an honour.

“There is nothing better than feeling you are a player that youngsters look up to.”

He’s shown his commitment to his club and it appears that he is happy to stay in Italy and continue plying his trade for the Turin team.
