Aubameyang suspended by Dortmund amid Premier League interest

Borussia Dortmund want to sign Arsenal star Olivier Giroud in exchange for star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang plus cash going Dortmund’s way.

Borussia Dortmund are demanding Olivier Giroud in a trade deal if they are to let Aubameyang go and if they can’t get a replacement for him, Dortmund will put the deal off until summer.

The Bundesliga club are driving a hard bargain as they want £60m for Aubameyang, plus they want Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud.

Dortmund need to sign a striker to replace the Gabon striker as they want to secure a Champions League place in the league this season.

Arsenal have already had a £45m bid rejected for him and talks continue as Arsenal club officials engage in ongoing talks with Dortmund chiefs.

French striker Olivier Giroud has spoken of his willingness to leave Arsenal in the past and has admitted he wants more first-team action so he can get a place in the World Cup squad this year.

Aubameyang has reportedly agreed personal terms with Arsenal and will get around £200,000-a-week at the Emirates. But talks over the transfer fee and swap deal are ongoing.

The Gabon 28-year-old striker has scored 13 goals in 15 appearances this season in the Bundesliga. Last season he scored a stunning total of 31 goals which won him the golden boot over Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski.

It’s no wonder Dortmund want to sign a replacement.
