I wanted to share the information I’m now receiving because I know there has been discussion of Tottenham coming to an agreement in principle to acquire Bournemouth centre-back Marcos Senesi. Senesi has drawn interest from Spurs, as I previously revealed here, and they have in fact contacted his representation over a possible free move this summer.

The Argentine has opted not to sign a new deal at Bournemouth, so he is almost a free agent. However, as of right now, I don’t know of any agreements he has made with other clubs. According to industry insiders, Tottenham is “in advanced talks” to recruit Senesi, but nothing can be finalised until the team finds out if they will still play in the Premier League the following season.

“It hasn’t been decided yet. According to one source, Spurs are in advanced negotiations and are quite interested in the player, but they haven’t made a choice yet. My understanding is that other teams like Liverpool are still vying for Senesi’s signature, but it’s possible that he is leaning toward Spurs if they stay up.

Tottenham strike ‘agreement’ to sign new centre-back

“Marcos Senesi and Tottenham have reached an agreement in principle,” Plettenberg posted on X. “If Tottenham stays in the Premier League, the 28-year-old top centre back has committed to joining Spurs on a free transfer in the summer.” Tottenham now has the last say. Nothing has been signed yet.

In the summer, the three-cap Argentina international will depart Bournemouth through free agency. Although it’s questionable if he would remain a starter at those teams, he has drawn interest from teams like Liverpool and Manchester United. Maybe in light of that, he has decided to sign with Tottenham, as our informant Graeme Bailey said eight days ago.

“Spurs have moved quickly to position themselves at the front of the queue for the Argentine defender, who is set to depart AFC Bournemouth on a free transfer,” Bailey reported back on April 17. “Talks have gone well, and a personal terms agreement is now in place.” However, it should be noted that the transfer will only be completed if Spurs are still in the Premier League.
