Atletico Madrid star to join Catalan giants
FC Barcelona have announced the signing of Arda Turan from La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid.
The Turkish midfielder has been expected to leave Atletico over the summer, with Barca, Manchester United and Chelsea all interested in his services.
However, tonight it has been announced that the Turk has chosen to join Barcelona and will join them in the new year once the club’s embargo is lifted.
Transfer Agreed
The transfer fee is believed to be around £24million and the winger will sign a five-year deal at the Nou Camp.
Due to their transfer embargo, it’s reported that Barca have inserted a clause in the transfer which could see the player return to Atletico until January, but only if £30.6m is paid to make it happen.
The news will come as a massive blow to both Manchester United and Chelsea.
