London clubs agree on £10.9million fee

Arsenal and Chelsea have reached an agreement for the sale of Petr Cech with the transfer fee reportedly worth £10.9million.

The Gunners have been linked with the 33-year-old since the end of the season, and after reports emerged yesterday that the deal was close to being finalised, it’s now been revealed that a fee has been agreed.

Sky Sports Sources understand that Arsenal will pay Chelsea just under £11m for the goalkeeper, and he will move to the club once he passes a medical in North London.

Deal Done?

According to reports, Cech has already agreed personal terms with Arsenal and will officially become an Arsene Wenger player once his undergoes his medical.

Cech will earn £100k-a-week, making him the club’s highest ever paid goalkeeper.

Wenger has seemingly lost faith in both his current goalkeepers, with Wojciech Szczesny being dropped halfway through the season after a shocking display against Southampton, whilst David Ospina hasn’t done enough since then to prove he’s long-term number-one material.

It’s now expected one will leave the Emirates Stadium, with Ospina the favourite to go despite joining just last summer.

According to reports, the Colombian is close to joining Turkish side Fenerbache after reportedly agreeing personal terms.

Chelsea will now turn their attentions to either Rob Green from Queens Park Rangers, or Asmir Begovic from Stoke City.
