Celtic defender Virgil Van Dijk set to sign for Southampton in a £11.5 million deal
It has been reported by Sky sources that he passed a medical at St Mary’s last night and that the deal should be finalised before the 6pm deadline.
This would be Ronald Koeman’s 9th signing of the summer and in a key position too with many Saints fans worrying about the central defensive position with Caulker seen as a squad player and Yoshida deemed by many to not be good enough.
Van Dijk joined Celtic from Groningen in 2013 and will be the Saints’ 3rd Dutch summer signing following the earlier arrivals of Jordy Clasie and Maarten Stekelenburg.

Celtic have moved quick to replace Van Dijk with Man Utd defender Tyler Blackett signing on a season long loan and they have also agreed a fee with Dinamo Zagreb for defender Jozo Simunovic.
