Colombian joins club on season-long loan

Chelsea Football Club have announced the deal of Radamel Falcao on a season-long loan from AS Monaco.

The Colombian international was out on loan last year in the Premier League, with Manchester United, and despite only netting four goals, Chelsea have still pursued with the deal.

Last month Jose Mourinho admitted that he wanted to try and help Falcao with his stuttering career and didn’t want the English football fans to think the Falcao shown at United was the real striker.

The 29-year-old was a lethal finisher for FC Porto and Atletico Madrid and he is now set for a season at Stamford Bridge.

After securing his loan-move to Chelsea, Falcao had this to say to the official website: ‘I am very happy to be joining Chelsea and can’t wait to start training and help with our aim of retaining the league title and being successful in Europe.’

Drogba Out/Remy Next?

Chelsea were in the market for a striker after Didier Drogba announced his intentions to leave the club, and Falcao’s move could now send Loic Remy on his way out as well.

The Frenchman threatened to quit the club if Falcao was signed and with The Blues officially announcing the loan-deal, Remy could be ready to leave the club.
