Colombian moves closer to exit

Chelsea have omitted Radamel Falcao from their Champions League squad for the remainder of the season.

The Blues were looking to ship at least one striker out throughout the January transfer window, but after Loic Remy‘s proposed move to Leicester City fell through, they were left with four, with Alexandre Pato coming in on loan.

Reports emerged that Falcao was in Spain throughout deadline day, but Atletico Madrid failed to ship out Jackson Martinez in time to secure a deal for the Chelsea striker.

Four Strikers

After failing to get a striker out of the club, Guus Hiddink now has four to choose from and he only wants three in his Champions League squad, so Falcao has been the one that’s omitted.

Diego Costa, Remy and Pato will be the three registered for the knockout stages.
