Both Costa and Gabriel have been charged with violent conduct and their respective clubs have been charged with failing to control their players
The incident occurred during Chelsea’s 2-0 win against Arsenal where Diego Costa slapped Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny before clashing shortly afterwards with Gabriel.
Gabriel Paulista was sent off by referee Mike Dean but Diego Costa got away with just a yellow card.
Both players have until 18:00 BST tomorrow to respond to the charges.
