Chelsea defender pens new deal
Chelsea Football Club have announced that Gary Cahill has signed a new deal at the club.
The centre-back has signed a new deal keeping him at Stamford Bridge until 2019, meaning he will most likely retire at the club.
After signing the new contract, the 29-year-old spoke to the club’s official website and revealed his delight at penning a new deal.
Statement
Cahill said: ‘I’m really pleased to commit my future to Chelsea and it’s great the club has put their faith in me.
‘I have achieved a lot here and I hope I can keep on learning, helping the team and lifting trophies over the next four years.’
Cahill has so far made 177 Chelsea appearances, scoring 15 times.
