Liverpool will turn down Manchester City’s £40million bid

Sky Sports Sources have revealed that Liverpool will reject Manchester City’s £40million bid for Raheem Sterling.

Reports broke this morning that City were set to make a fresh bid for the England international, and it was revealed that they would pay £35m up front, with a further £5m worth of add-ons.

However, it’s now been revealed that Liverpool will reject the offer as they still look to hold out for £50m.

Two Bids Rejected

The Citizens launched an initial bid worth £30m, but that was soon rejected, and their £40m bid is now to be rejected as well as it’s still £10m short of The Reds‘ valuations.

Sterling is expected to leave Merseyside this Summer after a controversial season off the field which has lead to him telling the club he wants to leave.

Sterling Under Contract

The winger has two-years left on his current deal, but he has informed club officials that he won’t sign an extension no matter what contract is offered.

Brendan Rodgers and co. now need to decide whether to cash in on the winger this Summer, or keep him and risk losing him for cheaper.
