Monaco striker Anthony Martial is reported to have passed his medical at Manchester United
The 19-year-old will now return to France after earning his first call-up to the senior team, according to Sky sources.
United had previously agreed a deal with the Ligue 1 club for Martial’s services over the weekend, with the fee believed to be around £36million plus add-ons.
The teenager started out at Lyon where he scored 32 goals in 21 games at youth level before breaking into the first team in the 2012-13 season.
During the summer of 2013, he signed for Monaco and has gone on to feature 57 times and score 13 goals during his first two seasons.
Arsenal were also credited with an interest but Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal acted first after allowing Javier Hernandez to leave the club.
Hernandez, who was left out of the starting line-up during Sunday’s 2-1 defeat to Swansea, has joined Bayer Leverkusen for £7.3million and signed a three-year contract with the Bundesliga club.
The Mexico international moved to Germany after spending five years in England, scoring 59 goals in 156 appearances during that time.
In addition, Adnan Januzaj has also followed Hernandez to Germany – the Belgian midfielder has signed for Borussia Dortmund on a season-long loan.
The 20-year-old has made 60 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring five goals, including the winning goal against Aston Villa on 14 August this season.
