Abou Diaby and Ryo Miyaichi won’t be offered new deal

Arsenal Football Club have released midfielders Abou Diaby and Ryo Miyaichi.

The duo were entering the final month of their contracts at the Emirates Stadium, but have been informed today by the club officials that they won’t be offered new deals.

Diaby, who has been at Arsenal since 2006, has failed to convince Arsene Wenger that he’s over his injury problems, whilst Miyaichi has failed to impress during his time in North London.

Diaby’s Injury Woes

Despite being at the club for nine-year, Diaby only managed to make 124 Premier League appearances for Arsenal after a broken leg had a knock-on effect on his career.

The Frenchman has suffered numerous injuries over the years and has struggled to remain fit for the past three or four seasons, leaving Wenger no choice but to release him.

Wenger said earlier this year that he would give Diaby a chance to prove his fitness until the end of the season, but it’s clear that the midfielder has failed to do so.

The 29-year-old will now be looking for a new club hoping to prove his fitness elsewhere. However, he could end up like Owen Hargreaves and be forced into an early retirement.

Miyaichi Fails To Impress

As for Miyaichi, the pacy winger, who signed back in 2011, was predicted big things at the club, but he has also been told his future is not in North London.

Since arriving back in 2011, Miyaichi has been sent out on loan to five different clubs and has failed to impress Arsenal during any of those temporary spells away.

The 22-year-old has been on loan at; Feyenoord, Bolton Wanderers, Wigan Athletic, FC Twente and Jong FC Twente, making 52 league appearances combined.

The club are expected to make formal announcements later today.
