Dimitar Berbatov has left Fulham to join French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco, in a lucrative deal which see’s the Bulgarian leave England.

Berbatov was linked with a move to former club Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the day, but has since opted to head to the tax free haven of Monaco in the South of France.

The oil rich French club have aquired the 33 year old, to cover recently injured striker Ramadel Falcao, who looks set to miss aroung nine months with a cruciate ligament injury.

Manager Meulensteen has overhauled his squad following the departure of Berbatov, with three players coming into Craven Cottage.

Greek international Kostas Mitroglou has joined from Olympiakos, with the striker having scored 17 goals in 19 games this season, in what is a real coup for the West Londiners as they battle relegation.

Lewis Holtby has also signed on a loan deal from London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

And finally Danish midfielder William Kvist has joined from Bundesliga side Stuttgart.

The Monaco transfer means Berbatov will have played in five leagues across Europe, representing three in England.
