Steven Naismith and Dwight Gayle both linked with Canaries
Norwich City have been strongly linked with a late transfer swoop for Crystal Palace striker Dwight Gayle and Everton forward Steven Naismith.
The Canaries are in the market for a new striker, with Gary Hooper set to leave and Ricky Van Wolfswinkel departing on loan late last night to Real Betis.
Alex Neil‘s side did announce the loan deal of Dieumerci Mbokani last night from Dynamo Kiev, but according to Sky Sports News, they want to add more firepower up front in order to stay in the Premier League.
Gayle has been strongly linked with a move away from Selhurst Park, with Bristol City and Aston Villa both making formal moves for him so far this summer, whilst Naismith has struggled to get regular first-team football at Goodison Park so far this season.
The Scotsman is behind both Romelu Lukaku and Arouna Kone in the pecking order at Everton, and he could be set for a shock move to Carrow Road in the last hour of the window.
It’s not yet understood which one is more likely to join Norwich, but The Canaries are hopeful they can get at least one of the deals over the line.
