Arsene Wenger confirms serious injury

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed Petr Cech will be out of action for around a month after suffering a serious calf injury.

The goalkeeper ran up for a last-minute corner against Swansea City, but whilst dashing back to his goal, he pulled up and hobbled off the pitch as the full-time whistle blew.

After the game Wenger confirmed that he’d be out of the North London Derby due to the injury, but in his press conference today, he has confirmed it’s a serious calf problem.

Wenger Confirms Blow

Speaking about Cech and Laurent Koscielny, Wenger said: “Petr Cech is out and Laurent Koscielny is not back. Cech will be three or four weeks with a calf injury.”

The news will come as a real blow to Arsenal‘s slim title-chances, as Wenger turns to David Ospina for the next four weeks.
