Liverpool announce deal is done

Liverpool Football Club have announced that Raheem Sterling has joined Manchester City in a deal worth £49million.

As reported earlier, the England international was undergoing his medical in Manchester today and the 20-year-old passed the tests and the check-ups this afternoon.

Deal Done

The 20-year-old has now agreed personal terms with The Citizens and is officially a City player.

Manchester City have confirmed that the winger will wear the club’s number-7 shirt after agreeing a five-year deal at the club.

Sterling departs Anfield after making 129 appearances for the club, scoring 23 goals in the process.

Liverpool left their official statement brief, writing on their official website: “Liverpool FC wishes Raheem well.”

City Statement

Manuel Pellegrini has said: “Raheem Sterling is one of the best attacking players in world football, and I am very much looking forward to him joining our squad out in Australia later this week.

“He is a young player with outstanding ability, and I am sure the Manchester City fans will be very excited about seeing him in action for the team.”
