Midfielder could now face a further six weeks out

Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky has sustained a serious thigh injury after making his return to first-team football yesterday.

The veteran came on as a second-half substitute in the FA Cup game against Burnley yesterday, but after making his first senior appearance since May, he sustained yet another injury.

Rosicky had been out of action for nearly a year after suffering a serious groin injury during the end of last season, but he’s now set for a further stint on the sidelines after picking up a thigh injury.

Six Week Layoff

The Czech will undergo tests and scans to find out the extent of the injury, but initial reports believe he could miss up to six weeks, which could see him out of action until the end of the season.

Rosicky is expected to leave the Emirates Stadium over the summer, once his contract expires, and there are now fears that Saturday’s game could be his final appearance for the club.
