Liverpool manager, Brendan Rodgers, has confirmed that Jon Flanagan will be offered a new deal at the club.
The young defender has missed the whole season due to a serious knee injury, but he broke into the first-team last year and is now on the comeback trail as he returns to training.
When asked about contract situations, Rodgers stated that the deal for Flanagan is in place and should be sorted out soon.
“Hopefully Flanno’s contract will be sorted out,” Rodgers said.
“He is working his way back to fitness and when that happens I am sure the contract will get sorted out.
“He is a big part of the future here. He did remarkably well last year and showed he is player who can play for many years at this level.”
Liverpool officials are still working hard on getting Jordan Henderson and Raheem Sterling to sign new deals with the duo still playing hardball due to wage demands.
