Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that no club has made a formal move for centre-back Daniel Agger, despite reported interest shown from three Premier League clubs.

The Danish international has told Rodgers that he wants to leave the club, and after an emotional meeting between the two, the 29-year-old left in tears after begging the boss to allow him to leave the club this Summer.

After Agger told the club he wanted out, reports developed that Arsenal were interested in signing him for roughly £12million, in order to replace Thomas Vermaelen, who joined FC Barcelona for £15m over the weekend.

However, Rodgers has confirmed that there has been no formal offers or talks as of yet for their wantaway defender.

‘I’ve seen some stories on that but, no, we haven’t had any enquiries,’ said Rodgers.

‘Dan’s still getting some work done on his knee, he’s been a bit unfortunate since America. He’s still getting treatment but we haven’t had anything, no offers.’

West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur have since joined Arsenal in the race for the centre-back.
