Former-Liverpool favourite with SkyBet to take Chelsea role
Brendan Rodgers is the current favourite to become the next permanent Chelsea manager, according to SkyBet.
The Northern Irishman is currently out of work following his sacking from Liverpool earlier in the season, and the bookmakers actually have him favourite to take over from Guus Hiddink at the end of the season.
Hiddink was appointed as interim-manager after Jose Mourinho lost his job, and will oversee Chelsea until the end of the season, which is when Roman Abramovich will appoint his long-term manager.
Rodgers Favourite
Pep Guardiola and Diego Simeone are the two managers consistently linked with the Stamford Bridge role, but according to the bookies, Rodgers is the current favourite.
Rodgers has a past with Chelsea, as he was a member of Mourinho‘s coaching team during the Portuguese’s first-stint in West London, and it’s believed he would be interested in making a return as manager.
The former-Reds manager is currently 7/2 to be in charge of Chelsea for the first game of next season, whilst Guardiola is second favourite at 5/1.
