Brendan Rodgers is not happy with the performance of the players after they gave a lead of 1-0 at Fir Park last night.
The Celtic manager has said that the players who are frustrated with their non-selection in the side should perform better.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has been open about the fact that he is ready to shuffle his squad around if necessary on the back of a frustrating draw against Motherwell. The Hoops were looking well set to win the match but they gave away the lead with just two minutes on the clock as Danny Johnson scored the equaliser. Prior to that, the Hoops manager also had to deal with a missed penalty and a disallowed first-half goal from Filip Benkovic, all of which happened after Ryan Christie put his side in the lead in the 13th minute of the match.
After the match, Rodgers said that the performance from his players was not up to the mark throughout the match. The Celtic manager said, “It’s good for a manager to see – players will knock and ask about why they are not playing and I need to see a game like that,” he added, “When you bring in full international players you’d expect it to be ok. You can’t go through a season with 11 players. We have players out injured so yeah it was what we had to do.”
Venting out his frustration about the draw against Motherwell, Rodgers lamented, “The result doesn’t change the fact were comfortable at 1-0 and we have to see it out. The last four or five minutes doesn’t change that.”
