Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has revealed that he is ready for this weekend’s clash with Manchester United on Sunday and he believes his side are in good shape to get all three points – despite them losing 6-0 last weekend.
Spurs faced tricky conditions last night as they faced Tromso in the Europa League, but goals from Vlad Chiriches and Mousa Dembele gave Villas-Boas a much needed victory, especially after last weekend’s 6-0 mauling by Manchester City.
The Portuguese manager has been under a lot of pressure this week with several reports claiming he is on his way out due to losing the dressing room, but those reports were soon dismissed by the man himself.
Talking ahead of this weekend’s massive game at White Hart Lane, Boas admitted that he is confident that his side can beat David Moyes’ men, despite them finding some impressive form of their own.
“I am very happy for the players to have bounced back from the defeat against Man City,” the Spurs boss said.
“Obviously the opponent we have on Sunday is the biggest that we can have.
“But to prepare for that game, it was important to get back to winning ways tonight and we did it in a fashion where we looked solid and created lots of chances. I am extremely happy with the performance and result.”
