Marking his 200th Premier League appearance for the club, Saka converted a second-half penalty to seal the victory and reach 100 goal involvements in the top flight, a landmark comprising 55 goals and 45 assists.

The goal made him the second Arsenal player, after Thierry Henry, to score on his 200th appearance for the club.

The decision to take the penalty himself came with summer signing Viktor Gyokeres, who had previously scored from the spot against Leeds United, awaiting his first goal in six matches.

Saka, however, revealed there was no doubt in his mind.

“No, when I grabbed the ball I wanted to take it, so that’s what my thoughts were at that moment,” Saka said after the match.

When pressed on whether Gyokeres could take future penalties, he added, “We’ll keep our conversations in the house for now, I won’t say much more!”.

Despite the competition for penalty duties, Saka was full of praise for his teammate.

“I think Viktor’s playing really, really well. There’s no doubt he’s going to score goals,” Saka stated.

“He’s a big part of the reason why we’re winning these games. His goals will come”.

With the goal, Saka became the seventh-youngest player in Premier League history to reach 100 goal involvements.

Despite the achievement, the 24-year-old winger emphasized his relentless drive for improvement.

“It feels very good,” Saka admitted.

“But yes, knowing myself, I’m always hungry for more. But at these moments I need to not take it for granted, especially being out with a few injuries in the last few months.

I’m really happy with that milestone. Like I said, I want to push on for more”.

The win, fueled by a first-half goal from Declan Rice against his former club, sent Arsenal to the top of the Premier League table.

Manager Mikel Arteta, celebrating his 300th game in charge, praised Saka’s “exceptional” impact and consistency.

As the international break begins, the conversation around penalty takers may continue, but Saka’s focus is clear: building on his milestone to help Arsenal’s push for trophies.
