Bundesliga was due to start on 16 May and it is already under jeopardy!

An entire squad has had to be put away in isolation for two weeks after two players in their team were tested positive for the virus.

Dynamo Dresden is the squad in question here. The Bundesliga second division side has tested two players carrying the CoVID-19 virus.

The health authority in charge of the club has decided to put the entire squad in quarantine for two weeks.

“After an intensive analysis of the situation, the health authority in Dresden responsible for the SGD in Dresden decided on Saturday that the entire second-division squad, including the coaching and support team, must now go into a 14-day quarantine at home,” the club said in a statement.

However, it does not affect the whole routine yet, according to DFL.

“At the moment, however, this does not upset our timetable. The DFL has been working on this concept for a long time and we have always stressed that it is the local health authorities that decide on each individual case, on each team,” chief executive Christian Seifert said.

The Bundesliga is still scheduled to start on the 16th of May, 2020. Returning to football still remains a difficult challenge and things might change soon.
