Burnley, an EFL Championship team, is about to sign Chelsea defense prospect Bashir Humphreys to a one-year loan agreement that includes a buyout clause. As per a report published on football.london, Burnley is interested in Bashir Humphreys. With an obligatory buyout clause, the 21-year-old Chelsea defense prospect will soon finish his loan move to the EFL Championship team.

Despite having the opportunity to relocate to Elland Road this summer, the England Under-21 international opted to stay with Burnley. During his season-long loan at Swansea City, Humphreys demonstrated his ability to play in the Championship. With 24 of his matches coming in the Championship, the Chelsea defender made 27 appearances for the Welsh team across all competitions.

Bashir Humphreys’ medical scheduled ahead of Burnley move

According to Sky Sports, the 21-year-old will have his physical with the Clarets within the next 24 hours. According to reports, Chelsea wants to transfer academy assets for as much profit as possible, and one of the parameters of the agreement is an obligatory loan-to-buy. Burnley and Chelsea loanees have a strong recent history together. When Ian Maatsen joined the team from Stamford Bridge two seasons ago, he was a major factor in getting the team promoted.

In the previous season, Humphreys had also started our third round FA Cup encounter against Manchester City. He had also started our second round League Cup match against AFC Wimbledon, his second Chelsea appearance. Being a gifted defender, I have no doubt that we will see Bash playing at the highest level in the near future.
