Callum Hudson-Odoi Opens Up on His Chelsea Departure
Callum Hudson-Odoi, once one of Chelsea’s most promising talents, has recently shed light on his decision to part ways with the club.
The 23-year-old winger, who now plies his trade for Nottingham Forest, reflected on his journey from Stamford Bridge and the reasons behind his exit.
Speaking candidly in a recent interview, Hudson-Odoi explained that despite receiving ample opportunities at Chelsea, the time had come for him to seek new challenges.
“I got the opportunities at Chelsea and played a load of games,” he noted.
“But I got to the point where I had to look at it and realise it had been nice, but it was time to go.”
The winger, who had been touted as one of England’s brightest prospects, emphasized that his departure wasn’t driven by any negative sentiment towards the club.
Instead, it was about rediscovering his passion for the game.
“You have to recognise when it is the right time to move on. And that was my time.
A case of I needed to get out of there… to find my football again and enjoy myself.”
Since his move to Nottingham Forest, Hudson-Odoi has found a fresh lease of life.
His performances have been rejuvenated, and while his goal tally may not yet reflect his full potential, his influence on the pitch has not gone unnoticed.
Hudson-Odoi’s departure adds to the list of players Chelsea could one day regret selling, and his rise at Forest suggests that his best years are still ahead.
