Arsenal’s players do not discuss the club’s position in the Premier League table amongst themselves, according to Carl Jenkinson.
The Gunners are currently five points clear at the top of the English top flight after an impressive start to the season in which they have won 11 of their 15 games.
Wenger’s men missed the opportunity to move seven points ahead of second-placed Liverpool after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Everton on Sunday.
But defender Jenkinson insists that he and his team-mates are simply taking each game as it comes and not concerning themselves with the table.
“The boys don’t really talk about where we are in the league too much if I’m completely honest with you,” said Jenkinson.
“We are just trying to take one game at a time and if we do that well then our league position will take care of itself.
“We’ve got big games coming up but we’re definitely not looking at it in an apprehensive way. We look at every game as an opportunity to improve our position in the league.
“You do see the other results and of course we were going into the Everton game knowing we could stretch our advantage.
“It’s difficult because we could have gone even further clear but we’re further ahead than we were so it’s not been a bad weekend by any stretch of the imagination.”
