Arsenal’s hopes of signing Sami Khedira have been dealt a massive blow, after Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that the midfielder is staying in Spain. The Gunners were preparing another bid of around £12m, after it was reported that the German international had rejected a new contract at Real Madrid.
But the Italian coach has now dismissed speculation that Khedira is on the move, by claiming that the 27-year old is staying in La Liga. He said;
“Khedira is happy here and he is staying. The matter is resolved and he stays at Real Madrid.”
So it now appears that the 55-year old manager has made a dramatic U-Turn and decided not to offload the midfielder. Chelsea had also been linked with a move for the German this summer, but they will no longer make any bid for him because they have no room in their squad for another foreign player.
