Italian drops massive hint he won’t return to Stamford Bridge

Carlo Ancelotti has dropped a massive hint that he won’t make a dramatic return to Chelsea Football Club, and will instead wait for the Manchester United job.

The Italian is currently taking a year away from football following his exit from Real Madrid, and he’s linked with taking over at Old Trafford in 2017 when Louis van Gaal leaves.

The Dutchman has already revealed he won’t sign a contract extension at United, meaning he will leave his role ahead of the 2017/2018 season.

Ancelotti is the main man mentioned with the job, with Bayern Munich‘s Pep Guardiola also in the frame, however, he’s more likely to join United rivals Manchester City.

As for Jose Mourinho‘s job, it was reported that Ancelotti could make a shock return to Stamford Bridge, but he has seemingly hinted that it wouldn’t be an option for him.

The manager has admitted he wants to win the Champions League again, and that could rule out Chelsea, who are likely to miss out on a top-four spot in the Premier League this season, meaning their only way of reaching next season’s competition, is by winning this year’s.

Ancelotti Eyeing Champions League

“I suffered a lot from leaving Real even though I understood the situation and prepared myself,” Ancelotti told French magazine France Football.

“But I don’t miss the pressure, it’s enough to see what is happening to (Rafa) Benitez this year.

“I want to win another Champions League and so I’m looking for a great club that can allow me to, regardless of the country.

“Milan? I received a proposal but at that time I had to have an operation and after Real the desire had left me.”
