Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher, who retired from football at the end of the season in May, has tipped Chelsea to win the Premier League in the following campaign.
The soon-to-be Sky Sports pundit made his views clear in an interview with The Mirror, in which he indicated that the return of Chelsea-hero Jose Mourinho would define the blues’ chances of reaching the top of the table in 2013/2014.
Carragher said about Chelsea: “I would pick them because Mourinho is coming back, and also because they actually have a very good team, as last season, with some fantastic players”
The 35-year old went on to praise attacking duo Juan Mata, 25, and Eden Hazard, 22, claiming they in the league, in the last season, were “probably [in the top] four and five, and this season under a different manager they could easily go on and become the top players in the League”.
