Carragher open to Liverpool return

Jamie Carragher has admitted that he would return to Liverpool if the right job came up. The defender retired from playing last year after a long and illustrious career with the Reds.

He is now working as a pundit for Sky Sports but he has admitted he would love to return to Anfield if the right opportunity came up. He said: “If I was offered a job in Liverpool in a good coaching role, it would be difficult to turn down.

“I suppose because it’s your club, you always want them to do well, but like I said, I am happy now, I enjoy what I am doing but if that happens you have a decision to make. Anyone else but Liverpool you wouldn’t really change your job but when is your own club it’s a big pull.”

This news comes after the announcement earlier this month that the defender drove to Melwood, Liverpool’s training ground, by accident – he had forgotten that he had retired! It shows that the club is still in his heart and we could see him back at Anfield in the future.
