Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas has reportedly stated his desire to sign for Arsenal, and has pleaded with the Spanish club to release him from his current contract.
Casillas, who has spent more than a decade at Real Madrid, as reportedly unhappy at the club, having lost his place as number one cjoice to Diego Lopez.
And according to Spanish Newspaper El Confindencial, Casillas is said to be hopeful of sealing a move to Arsenal, having been reduced to the Cup goalkeeper.
Ancelotti has also brought in Levente keeper Keylor Navas, following his superb World Cup with Costa Rica for an £8 million fee, putting Casillas’ Madrid future further in doubt.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is keen on a goalkeeper to challenge current number one choice Wojciech Szczesny, with Colombian keeper David Ospina also linked wih a move.
